Solve : Adobe Flash question?

Answer»

I was recently looking at a profile on the OKcupid DATING site when I was prompted to OPEN flashplayer. It LOOKED completely legitimate but, because I had NEVER been prompted to do this before on this particular site (and as it seems like I'm always reading about newer and more complex viruses), it MADE me paranoid. when I clicked "don't allow" the box kept re-opening. Finally I restarted the computer and, fingers crossed, everything seems okay-although I'm nervous about going on to that particular site again.

So I'd appreciate it if anyone could give me their input as to whether I dodged a bullet or if I'm just being paranoid. FYI-I wasn't being prompted to update (I've read about those viruses)-just to open it which doesn't really make sense since I assumed Flash is always open. You are not paranoid. In view of the current state of things, you behavior makes perfect sense.

My system has a current version of flash on it, but I get those update things nearly every week, but when I go to the adobe flash site it says my flash is OK.

And even Mac users are being spoofed by the fake flash update.
