Answer» Hello, I've been having more and more problems with my computer after downloading a Celtx software. I WENT through and finally DELETED it and a few other programs I figured I wouldn't need. That seemed to make my computer go a bit faster. Then I updated my mozilla firefox, and now when I attempt to watch any VIDEOS the screen says I need to update my adobe. So I do, and right after it says I have downloaded it I try to watch a video, and it still says I don't have the proper updates. I've had problems with my adobe program for over a year now. FIRST it wouldn't let me download pdf files, and now it won't let me watch videos. Also, when I try to make google my homepage it never saves the change, my mozilla fox will randomly close on me, and my computer will even fall into sleep mode as I'm working on it. Thank you for the help! I need it :/ Did you restart firefox after updating flash? Uninstall mozilla firefox and adobe flash player from add/remove programs (windows xp) / Programs and features (windows vista and above). Download fresh and latest copy of firefox and install. Then download fresh and latest copy of adobe flash and Install. For your laptop sleep problems, 1) check the power settings in control panel if you have by mistake set your sleep options to 1min or less. Set to minimum 5minutes. 2) If the above option is all right, next time it goes in sleep mode when you are working, check if the power led is going off and coming slowly? That indicates if it is going in sleep mode or not. The point here is to check if it is going into sleep mode or is the screen going off / back lit off problem. Thanks, I will check these things out now. You said delete adobe flash player....so I can delete this and reinstall it for free? Thanks for the help! Your advice solved a lot of problems. I uninstalled Firefox, redownloaded it, and was successfully able to download adobe flash player! Now I can watch videos woo hoo! I checked the sleep mode option, and yes it was set to go into sleep mode after an hour. I changed it to "never". Thanks!Great. But did changing the power setting to never solved problem? If it was EARLIER set to 1 hour then it should not goto sleep while working!!Yes, I'm back because it's going to sleep again! What the heck, I don't know what to do....Also, I noticed flash playing saying it crashed and for a few minutes it wouldn't play videos but now it's working....I don't know if it will do this again.Oh my goodness as I was on here, my computer closed Firefox, logged out and shut down....is this a virus problem?I don't know why I assumed it was a laptop. My bad. Is it a laptop or desktop? You're right; it's a laptop.Ok, do you feel the bottom /base of the laptop is getting too much hot?? So much that it sometimes gets difficult to keep on your laps?? As far as virus is concerned you can download Malwarebytes Antimalware install and run a full system scan.It does get quite hot, I actually always put it on the table or couch so it's not on my legs. As for antivirus, my grandmother just gave me Norton to download, so I will try that.It may be a good idea to state what "CeltX" app this was that was installed...I'm not sure which Celtx app was installed....I was advised to download any free one I could find and I did. I just turned on my laptop to download the norton and very soon after turning it on heard this terrible noise from the fan location.....is it an old fan that needs to be replaced?Your laptop needs to be serviced from inside. I.e- to make it free of dust. The noise may be of hard dust particles stucked in fan or fan needs lubrication. Will you be able to take your laptop apart?Hello, yes I think I may need to have it serviced. I looked online how to clean my fan which I did the best I could. I also read things about lubrication and I have no idea how to do that...I'm thinking I may need a specialist aw man. After cleaning my fan I turned on the laptop and heard the noise again.
