Solve : alternatives to realplayer??

Hey folks,

i'd like to listen to BBC 4. To do so i NEED Realplayer, the BBC4 website explicitely says so. But Realplayer s.cks , correct?
All those unwanted features and pop-ups...no good.
Any alternatives that i could use?

VLC or Winamp?Vlc won't open it.

I wonder why the BBC have't an own player in the first place
