I personally don't run anything real-time
On your personal computer you can do whatever you want, but it's definitely NOT, what 99% of security experts recommend for computer users.
Simple FACT, that your computer didn't get infected proves just nothing.Quote from: Broni on June 17, 2011, 06:30:03 PM

can you quote 99% of these security experts? Can you find more than a handful that aren't on the payroll of a company that develops AV software?

didn't think so. You're just pulling statistics out of nowhere to back up your alleged claim, which proves nothing more than my anecdotal evidence.
I can tell you only two things and this will be my very LAST comment.

1. Recommending using a computer without any protection is totally irresponsible advice. It puts in danger not only your computer, but any other computer connected to the net (by being exposed to potentially your computer being infected, used as a bot, etc.).
If your ISP would discover, you're not using any protection, your service would be shut down right AWAY. I ASSUME, they must be ignorant too.

2. I WORK on 10-20 infected computers every day, so I DO know first hand, what happens to unprotected computers.

Good luck!
