hi i would like to ask if you know a PROGRAM that limits the network connection i mean the upload/download speed because my brother and i are sharing the same CONNECTIONS and when he downloads and play he eats up the connection speed so i would like to search for a software that could limit his doings, i am using windows vista and i can't play properly on online games and i have hard time downloading also because he is always downloading every day. My friend preferred me to netlimiter and bandwith manager but they are blocked don't know why, http-tunnel but no keys, your-freedom (i'm not pretty sure about this but someone said it's still useless because it will expire after 30 days trial)any other programs?in task bar , right click your connection ( monitor ) , click status , properties , advanced , you will see an

option on sharing connectionsMy router allows me to set Quality of Service priorities.

I set mine to 1; if I want bandwidth from the router- I get it.i can't make it work, can u prefer me to a simple software pls? i want us to share EQUAL bandwidth connection, programs like netlimiterno one can help me?  The best place manage bandwidth on a home network is on the router, using Quality of Service priorities like BC_Programmer suggested.
If you have several home computer sharing an internet connection you usually have a router.
If you listed the NAMES and model numbers of the network equipment you have (the STUFF you connect your PCs to in order to get online), I could probably tell you whether or not your have a router with QoS capabilities.I would suggest you ask your Brother to get his own connection,,,thanks everyone
