Solve : Anyone here have Word 2007??

Answer»

One of my friends received a file in the .docx format, and I can't READ it. Could someone possibly allow me to e-mail them the file, and then copy and paste it into their e-mail, and send it back to me? It's really important. Thanks!Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and POWERPOINT 2007 File Formats

XP Pro. I have only a limited account, and my Dad, the admin, isn't here. I'd rather just have someone do it for me, it'd be a lot easier. What Office version do YOU have?Quote from: Jade on December 10, 2007, 06:59:51 PM

You need to ask the administrator to install the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 File Formats. You cannot install most software on a limited account unless you have the administrator password.Quote from: dairyman on December 10, 2007, 07:43:30 PM

This was not only rude but, frankly, just plain stupid. If you spend any significant time on this forum, you'll know that a lot of valuable help is given to people here.

You did not say WHY Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 File Formats did not work for you. I'm an office user. After visiting that page, I see no reason why that is not a solution. Can you explain WHY it didn't work for you? To exactly what extent to you attempt to follow the procedure there?

I was inclined not to offer any assistance with this after reading your rude remark. Let's just say I'm doing it in the spirit of Christmas. Here's the solution. Go back to the person who created the document, or someone else who has Word 2007, and ask them to open the file in Word 2007 and then Save As a Word 97-2003 document or another format that you know you can view.Quote from: Jade on December 10, 2007, 08:35:17 PM

For someone who has had their HJT log analysed here for FREE...doesn't have an XP CD...and has had issues with keygens; infections etc. this is a ridiculous statement.

Follow Soybean's excellent advice above and this Topic is Closed.
