Solve : Artec scanner drivers???

Answer»

woe is me. the scanner doesn't work now I've moved from vista to 7. And I don't have the disk. And Artek customer service 0claim not to have manufactured the machine (they did!). I've installed something called e_2B48U but the softies don't like it (Are you sure you've installed drivers properly? it says smugly).
Anyone know how to get the drivers please
All the machine says is that it's an Artec e+48U usb machine
thanksCame out in Sep 1, 2003

Time to update your scanner.windows 7 should AUTOMATICALLY search for and find the correct driver but being a peripheral it might not
you could use a driver solution

http://download.cnet.com/slimdrivers-free/3000-18513_4-75279940.html

note: it will find all of your OUTDATED drivers

this is a free driver solutions
they will automatically search for and find the correct driver
hope it helps you
You might have to uninstall the printer restart your computer then reinstall your printer
click start control panel administrative tools computer management device manager scroll to ports(COM&LPT) + to expand you should see a communication port and Ecp printer port
you might see a yellow question / exclamation ? ! mark or a red X this will mean you need to install a new driver for this device right click you will have options to update driver disable uninstall or select properties again you will have the similar options also you can troubleshoot the device
What part of manuf. in 2003 got you confused ? ?One possibility is to use Windows Update. It might find a better driver for you. In regard to uninstalling/reinstalling certain devices, printers and dial-up modems in particular, it has historically been necessary with Windoze to remove all traces of the previously-installed device drivers before the reinstallation of the device. Not sure about Win7. Worse case would be a reinstall of Win7, then reinstalling the device.Sorry, didn't mention that "all traces of the previously-installed devices drivers" were those in the registry. If you really want to have a working driver for your device, you can try to ASK someone who have the same device as yours (probably the same mode.) You can visit PC repair shops, since they might have some old stocks of hardware devices or isntallersQuote from: patio on December 01, 2011, 04:59:48 PM

Good Luck with this approach..."What part of manuf. in 2003 got you confused ? ?"

I'm well beyond being confused. It's a generic USB plug-and-play scanner. Every other computer I have plugged it into has just worked, no drivers required. If you use the Artec installation disc you get a few more features. Why would Microsoft want to antagonise their customers by bringing out a bloated new version of Windows which makes it difficult or impossible to do all the really useful things the old version did? Especially when the old version was so compact it was loaded from just a handful of floppy discs...Good evening Autoboffin and welcome back to CH

What model is the scanner

What version of windows 7 32bit or 64 bit?

Using this link you can find if the scanner is ok to use in W7 http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/default.aspx you can check for software and hardware.

If you can supply the model of the scanner and what version W7 we may be able to HELP you further, Mike
