Solve : atikmpag.sys causing BSOD?

Answer»

Hi.

I seem to be running into a lot of BSODs resulting from my ATI graphics driver, namely atikmpag.sys according from the dump, on my Dell Inspiron M5010. I've tried reinstalling drivers from both Dell's website and AMD's site but to no AVAIL. Both of them have resulted in the BSOD with bug code 0x00000116 which I believe is a STOP error.

If you need more info from me, lemme know. I'm new to the whole PC support posting. ^^;Download BlueScreenView
No installation required.
DOUBLE click on BlueScreenView.exe FILE to run the program.
When scanning is done, go Edit>Select All.
Go File>Save Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt.
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into your next reply.==================================================

==================================================And you're sure you downloaded the right driver from Dell? This one
http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04/DriverDetails/DriverFileFormats?c=us&l=en&s=bsd&cs=04&DriverId=R266228Did the first time, gave me the BSOD. I'm currently using the ones from AMD and they seem to work nicely for now.Quote from: Koyote on April 07, 2012, 05:22:26 PM

So, you're all fixed up then?Nope! Just BSOD'd. Same error and everything. Should I replace them with the ones you linked?Let's try this

Download Speccy
http://www.piriform.com/speccy/download

After you've downloaded it double click on the file to start the installation. Once you've installed it, open it up. At the top of the page go to File and then Publish snapshot. You will see a prompt asking you if you want to proceed with publish. Click yes, then copy to clipboard. Right click on an empty space in your reply box and click paste.http://speccy.piriform.com/results/qAlyXWj44gv7RylgelkjOpoQuote from: Koyote on April 07, 2012, 06:08:48 PM
