Answer» I don't know if this is possible, but I want to edit a sound file I recorded, and remove a sound that's drowning out the voice. I know about the Noise Removal tool; trouble is, I can't FIND a piece of noise without the voice.
Allow me to EXPLAIN. I was playing a game (I'm sure you've heard of Crimson Room; it's all over the net. Well, I was playing "Viridian Room", the sequel) online, and encountered a strange sound. It was... bizarre. That's all I can think to call it. However, I noticed it had the earmarks of a voice -- reversed!
Using Audacity, I captured the sound. I then reversed and sped up the voice. I am able to discern the first sentence, but after that, a very odd sound drowns out the voice. I need it removed. Is there a way to do this?
If you want to listen to the sound yourself, and my documentation on the attempt, I hosted the files (678 KB) here: http://www.sharebigfile.com/file/48115/unknown.7z.htmlI might have a go at that later for you. I'm FAIRLY good with Audacity.Dear LORD - is it just me or is that quite scary? Both the reversed and non-reversed versions are quite freaky. I'll have a go at editing them in a bit. Quite strange how it makes a sentence when reversed. Edit: did some googling, and it appears that it is a hint of some sort. Don't know if that's helpful to you, I've never played the game. I'd actually never heard of it until you posted this.Yes -- Quite freaky. I think it's supposed to be a sentence when reversed. By that, I think he MADE the "satanic" voices by recording himself, mixing in a weird sound, slowing it down, and reversing it. If anyone can make any progress, let me know. I've botched it about 20 more times. I've not got anywhere with it yet. I'll let you know if I make any progress though.
