Solve : Auto detection of uninstalled drivers in xp...?

Answer»

Is there any software to auto detect the uninstalled device driver software in windows xp and installs them from a CD/DVD.. ?

If such software is not available (IF not ONLY), can we detect them using any programming and installs appropriate software ?How would you expect anything what was actually uninstalled?

Ouija board?  Most of the driver software available is not on your COMPUTER.
And a list of all the drivers not installed on your computer,..
 or mine,
will be very long.I want a software that tests our computer hardware and finds the appropriate drivers if there are installed or not...... If not installed it will automatically install the software from a CD/DVD.

That's I really want.Updating drivers in bunches is a total mistake.
Drivers should be updated only in case, they don't work, or they're missing.
If some driver doesn't work, you'll know right away.
If some driver is missing, Device Manager will tell you. Quote from: Vikram Varaprasad on NOVEMBER 07, 2009, 10:31:10 PM

We don't recommend any of the driver detective type programs, they are marketing ploys and usually don't identify your hardware correctly.

Like Broni says, only update drivers if they are problematic or missing.OK, I was just trying  to be funny.
You own a a Acer 470 notebook, -Right?
Your specs indicate that you have a main stream PC that should not have any driver problems. The driver problems come when we start to play the mix and match game with our new toys. The Acer 470 is a mass-produced item that has been tested by both the maker, Acer, and the marketplace. It is a good little machine you can take anywhere.

If you want the best, latest updates for that machine, start here:

And yes, stay away from the so-called 'Detective'. If he was a real defective, his license would be suspended for...
 reckless driver -ing.

He's talking about a bunch of workstations at work...

Basically looking for an easy SOLUTION that does not exist.Ofcourse all you told is right, I agree. I post the question because of my desktop driver cd......

After fresh installation of windows xp I put the driver cd in the DVD-Drive and it automatically recognizes the devices and provided me the information about which harware driver is installed and which is not and do you want to install ?

I browse the cd for the software program, and its an .exe made by INTEL and it's only created for desktop board and it didn't work on any other........

So i asked any other related programs are exist or not ?
Ofcourse I donot recomment them but i want to know the technique....To be honest, I still don't understand what your real question is  The technique behind the softwares that detect our hardware.....They scan the hardware for unique identifiers and then try to match them up with appropriate drivers.  Most of these FAIL, quite brutally I might add.

Do it manually, there's no grief that way.  Well, less grief.Oh, I can't do it manually. If there is any software like intel (provided for my hardware) then only i'l try.

I think we can do the detection using C language ? or any other....No, there isn't.

You have to do it manually.  Like the rest of the IT's out there.

If there was an automatic way, why would they keep you on?Then which language the intel uses to make its softwares ?
