Answer» I have installed Online Armor FREE firewall, which seems to be working okay. But now I can't check for updates on AVG Anti RootKill. The box comes up from OA asking if the PROGRAM should be allowed to go on line. I click on yes, but AVG fails to open FireFox and go to the Web site. I have only had this problem since installing Online Armor firewall, so am sure it is conected. I know that AVG Anti Rootkill opens up in a random window. Any suggestions what to try please?
I have: WIN XP Pro AVG anti virus AVG anti Root Kill AVG Anti spyware A Squared AdAware Spyware Blaster Spyware Guard RemoveIt ThreatFire Win Patrol Online Armor free firewall FireFox ThunderbirdTemporarily disable the firewall to grab your updates...DOH! Thanks for that Patio, I should have tried that. Have a great Christmas computer trouble free! And you do the same as well ! !
p.s. Who makes ThreatFire ? ?
There may be other alternatives....although you have a well rounded healthy protection package.
Someone's been paying attention.... Link to the Threatfire site below. It used to be called "Cyberhawk".
http://www.threatfire.com/I'd say with AVG installed you can dump that one... The reviews at the Security Forums/Boards weren't that glowing...
What about this firewall...how long have you had it ? ? Another one i'm not familiar with....man i must be way behind on my reading ! !Only had this firewall a few days, so can/t say much about it. It seemed well rated on a link posted elsewhere on this forum. Plus having been hacked through Zone Alarm, then having other problems with it I was looking for an alternative. Link to Online Armor below.

Personally i RUN Jetico... Others here recommend Comodo but for me it nagged more than my first Wife...
I'll try yours out on the testbench machine and report back with the findings...Have you tried the new(ish) Comodo 3.0 patio? It has been completely revamped. I didn't like 2.4 much either but I'm really impressed with 3.0.On my to do list..."nagged more than my first Wife...I'll try yours out on the testbench machine and report back with the findings." Brave man Patio! I should have bench tested my first wife out too! (Might have PARK bench tested!)
