Answer» Figured I'd check here to see if anyone has a suggestion of a good AVI to MP3 converter that is free or low cost?
I'd like to add my comedy DVD's to play audio on MP3 PLAYER and CONVERTED the few to AVI's THINKING it might be easier to convert to MP3 from AVI to get the audio stream off the video.
I see a bunch in google search, but I figured I'd ask FIRST before just installing one.if you don't mind command line, ffmpeg will convert the audio from DVD VOBs or AVI format files to mp3. E.g.:
for %A in (X:\video_ts\vts_*.vob) do c:\ffmpeg\ffmpeg.exe -i "%~dpnxA" -vn -ar 44100 -ac 2 -ab 192k -f mp3 "%~nA.mp3"
Cool that would work... is there a suggested site to get ffmpeg.exe from to avoid a virus etc?You can compile it yourself, the source code is available, but there are pre-compiled Windows and LINUX builds. The Windows 64 and 32 bit builds are hosted at Zeranoe.com, you will need 7zip as they are in 7z archives. I suggest you get a 32 and/or 64 bit static build, that way you won't need any DLLs or stuff.

Other OS builds, source code:

A lot of GUI video converters like Handbrake are just graphical front ends for ffmpeg. Not all of them acknowledge it. One that does not hide the fact is ffe ...
