Solve : Backing up AVG?

Answer»

I have the free version of AVG. If I wanted to put BACK it up on a THUMB drive (just in case something goes wrong with my computer and because I have a dial-up connection, I don't want to have to download the whole program over again) what's the best way that I can do this and ensure that I have not only have the program but all the DATA updates I have since downloaded to the program as well?
Thanks for any advice. The original install file should still be on the machine...look in whatever folder your DLoads go to....this is what needs to be backed up
You cannot backup a program that is ALREADY installed...it simply won't work.

The other option is to have a friend that has high speed DLoad it for you and THROW it on a CD or thumb drive...Quote

If you go with this option, I think this is the link you will need:

You mentioned all the updates too. You're probably familiar with updating via the built-in function in AVG.
However, you can download them too.
Check out:

So, if you are having a friend download the main installer .exe, have them grab the updates for you too.
(Since I'm not sure just which to get there, I'd just ask them to get them all)

Bear in mind, that the updates that you download will only be as up-to-date as the date you had them downloaded for you though.
