Answer» i have a large collection of DVDs which are very VULNERABLE to scratching, now i have paid for these so see no reason that my use of the disc should be only for as long as some shockingly shoddy disc lasts. i would like to ask if anyone knows how i can backup(copy to avi files on my hard-drive) the movie on a dvd because there is an anticopying THING PLACED on the disc to prevent ordinary copying methods working. in particular i am interested in BACKING up the FILMS from dvds by: universal studios paramount colombia pictures sony warner bros i have vlc which can play all these, is it capable of copying them? if it isn't what FREE software shpuld i download to accomplish this task? cheers and thanks in advanceWhile I sympathize with you, we cannot and will not help you break copyright laws.
