Solve : Backup disk drive question?

Answer»

I have a Gateway laptop running Vista Home Premium, and my D-backup disc says it is full.
What should I do?D is not your backup, it's your recovery partition. I shouldn't be touched. Did you PRY any files into that partition?Backup requires another Had Drive.
The D: is not really another hard drive. It is a place where some very important stuff is kept and you don't want to mess with it.
You need to buy another Hard Disk Drive. Many people like to get the EXTERNAL kind, because the are so easy to install and USE. And if you r COMPUTER is small, you have to use the external kind.Hello:

Please do this steps ONLY IF you receive the "Low disk Space" message.

You could not backup to the recovery partition, however, if you have already receiving Low disk space error and would like to disable it (Note: This will not free-up recovery partition space, this will only disable the annoying Low disk space message):

Press and hold Windows Key on keyboard and press R. It will open Run Window. Type the following in the open box and click OK

Regedit

1. Use the left side of the Registry Editor, navigate to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindo wsCurrentVersionPolicies

2. Right-click in the right pane and select New Key.

3. Name the new key Explorer.

4. In the Explorer key, right-click in the right pane and click New DWORD (32-bit) Value.

5. Name the DWORD NoLowDiskSpaceChecks.

6. Right-click the new DWORD and click Modify.

7. SET the Value Data to 1.
