Please introduce great WAYS to understand the differences between incremental backup and differential backup. Hard to differ these two...
Thanks a lotWe don't do homework. ?
I've asked help from Google... But practical operation failed.Perhaps you did not enter the correct search terms. It`s obvious from your post about opensource software that you may not be fairing well in class.Quote from: York on October 13, 2010, 12:32:52 AM

We still don't do homework.Definiteness backup contains are all files that have changed since the last FULL backup and the advantage of a differential backup is that it shortens restore time COMPARED to a full backup or an incremental backup.

Now, here given below ADVANTAGES and Disadvantages: :

Advantages
1. Restore is faster than restoring from incremental backup
2. BACKING up is faster than a full backup
3. The storage space requirements are lower than for full backup

Disadvantages:
1. Restore is slower than restoring from full backup
2. Backing up is slower than incremental backup
3. The storage space requirements are higher than for incremental backup

@ Thomee............can you read any of the above posts.

If yes, then why ANSWER........WHY???
