For downloads - depends what you want - you could have a look at Download.com
Good luck download.com has a large list of freeware, shareware, etc.
But honestly, I just google whatever type of software I'm looking for:
For instance, if looking for a decent photo editing program, I'd google this:
download freeware photo editor
or if you have a mac, search for download freeware photo editor macthank youMaybe check my site pcsourcepoint below, where I have links to plenty of popular software freeware sites. There is also a link to a list of those sites you can download. Perhaps subscribe to snapfiles freeware (or others) to get daily updates of new freeware software...Check HERE as well. 73 pages, all freebies.Don't take this too personal, but you do sound a bit new to the PC scene, at least as far as PC setup and software goes.... Please be careful with what you install. Many free downloads may have viruses attached, or might include malware or spyware as part of their installation. I would look around and COME up with a couple titles you're interested in, then ask the boards opinion about specific software titles before installing. You might otherwise do youself and your new laptop a bit of harm! (You didn't learn to drive your first day by taking your brand-new car and driving it off a cliff or wrapping it around a tree, did you?)Quote from: JAZZNSKA on February 04, 2008, 08:39:19 AM Don't take this too personal, but you do sound a bit new to the PC scene, at least as far as PC setup and software goes.... good point JazznskaThe good thing about download.com is they say whether or not it's been tested spyware free/virus free.Quotegood point Jazznska Yes, indeed, however I wouldn't post any link to any unsafe programs.Quote from: Broni on February 04, 2008, 05:32:14 PMQuotegood point Jazznska Yes, indeed, however I wouldn't post any link to any unsafe programs.
Broni, I don't think that's what Jazznska was saying, just that if stylus is out on the web, following links, and looking for programs... to be careful. I agree 100%Try this site...look under Free Files. Lots of good, recommended free software.
