Answer» Hi, I have a blackberry phone that I want to load AVI files on to it. When I try to load the FILE it shows up as a bad file. I want to know if I can get some new codecs for the phone or if I can re process the files so the phone will work with the files.
Thanks You may want to GO to one of the many blackberry forums. AVI format is often USED in a number of WAYS. For a mobile device the pixel size must be reduced to a smaller size and rewritten in a suitable mobile format. And a audio format is also needed. Format Factory is one of many Free programs that might work for you. http://www.formatoz.com/Until a few weeks ago I thought AVI files were standardized. There are not always.
I recently bought a SanDisk Fuse media player. I had some mpg files I loaded on to it and none of them played. There were a few sample video files in the AVI format already on the player. I used Leawo to convert the files from mpg to AVI, loaded then on the player and only half of them played.
I down loaded Sansa Media Conversion from SanDisk, converted THERM again and they all played perfectly.
Maybe Blackberry has something similar.
A good article on AVI files.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audio_Video_InterleaveHi Guys, I too thought that AVI were standardized but they are not. I used the tool the Geek-9pm posted and did a convert to get them to work on my blackberry. By the way, that was a great find Geek-9pm. Thanks
Thanks! You are welcome. Come back anytime.
