Solve : Blank CDs?

Answer»

Sorry if this isn't the right board dealy, but I've been having problems with blank CDs on my COMPUTER.  Whenever I put them in, it appears as if they're loading them or whatever, but after it stops, it says there isn't anything inserted in the CD drive.

I've put in other CDs with data on them, and they work fine.  I just would like to KNOW how come it won't recognize I have a CD in there...

Thanks...Because they are empty...what burning program are you currently using ? ?I'm on XP, so I was pretty sure there's one that comes default with it...

Looking at XP tutorials on how to burn things, they make it seem as if you're supposed to at least to get a prompt when you put a blank CD in...Nope.try downloading itunes, sonic stage, moving your music onto there, and using that program to burn your CDs. you can also try the CD-burning tool on windows media player and see if it reads it.Guys, XP shouldn't be saying that there is nothing in the drive. If you insert a blank disc in XP it should come up with a prompt asking you what you want to do, unless you've chosen a default action for blank discs. Besides if you have a blank disc in the drive, you should be able to access that drive by doubling clicking it and see a empty folder. You can then drag and drop files to the folder to burn them.
So to me its sounds like there's a problem with your burner or with the blank cds you're using. The last post from the OP was two months ago...AHH didn't notice mylondoncalling had bumped an old thread. Well never MIND then. Wonder if the guy ever downloaded a burning program ?

We shall never know.....................
