Solve : Boot from CD/DVD is disabled, and configure setup is locked!?

Answer»

Hello all, I'm trying to reinstall the os for my cousin's laptop, but there is no boot option for booting from CD/DVD. I then tried to go in the BIOS settings and change it, but the configure setup section was locked. Is there any good way to remove the pass, except opening the laptop and REMOVING the pin? Because I don't know how to open it (the laptop), and most password crack softwares must be booted to do it, and it's just impossible!

Any help is much appreciated, thank you! Most laptops today have a shortcut Fn key that allows you to change the boot DEVICE without accessing the BIOS.

Try F2, F10 or F12 to access the boot menu.If the setup section is locked then there is a BIOS password involved...
In that case we cannot offer assistance and you will NEED to take it to an authorised service center for the laptop manuf. and show proof of ownership.tHE GIRL I GOT THIS LAPTOP FROM DOESNT KNOW WHERE THE RECEIPT IS, SHE got this laptop a long time ago.Quote from: fivepoint8 on May 22, 2010, 04:03:47 AM
