Solve : Boot up?

Answer»

Hi, when I try to boot up I the initial windows lgo then a blank screen. If I try to load in safe mode it does not get to the windows logo screen but comes with the following message

multi(0)disk(0)partition(1)\windows\system32\drivers\agg440.sys

Any help or ADVICE would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks
Run an OS repair; in this case, run an XP repair. It should fix whatever missing or corrupt windows files there are.
Forgive me but I am not that savy. Is an XP repair something that I can do myself or will I need to take it to a repair outlet? Repair Install of XP...Isn't it rather agp440.sys?Quote from: patio on July 24, 2009, 05:32:29 PM

You are right, my errorDownload Windows Recovery Console: http://www.thecomputerparamedic.com/files/rc.iso
Download, and install free Imgburn: http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download
Using Imgburn, BURN rc.iso to a CD.
Boot to the CD...let it finish loading.
When the "Welcome to SETUP" screen APPEARS, press R to start the Recovery Console.
Then, follow steps from here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324764 starting at step #3.Quote from: Broni on July 25, 2009, 09:59:00 AM
