Solve : Burning a Large MPEG to a CD-RW ? ? ?? |
|
Answer» HI there. ive GOT this MPEG which is 720, 289 kb in size and i want to burn it onto a cd-rw to i can give it to a mate........ the only problem is , it doesnt fit on a cd-rw, as the cd-rw is only 700mb.......... can you get larger size cd-rws. like 750 or even 800 mb ? i dont have a dvd burner so i can burn it to one of those....... it can only go on a cdrw....... what can i do ? jasonYou will need to ZIP/compress it to fit on a CD. 700 is as big as they get.i did try Zipping it, but that DIDNT make much difference in the size ? it took of a little but not enough to still fit on the CD-RW If you zip to exe, Winzip and other programs will split it among multiple disks (never tried it with a CD though). Then when the other person gets it, it will reassemble it. How do u zip to an EXE ? The only options when i try to zip are ( add to zipp file. it doesnt say anything about zip to an EXE ? If you use WinZIP, ZIP the file, then double-click it and under Actions, select Make EXE.Split the file up with HJ Split. You can split the file into different sizes, I think the maximum is 10mb, but even then you can burn the files onto 2 blank cds give them both to your friend and then he can put them back together, pretty simple program. http://www.freebyte.com/hjsplit/ |
