Solve : Can't burn/copy to CD-RW or DVD-RW? |
Answer» We just got this new computer in January... first time with a CD/DVD burner! I seem to only be able to burn and/or copy to CD-R and DVD-R... if I PUT in a blank CD-RW or DVD-RW, my computer doesn't recognize it. Our computer is a Systemax. Not sure what other information is needed. It burns and copies great - as long as I use a -R. I'm just wondering if this is a setting I can change, or if this is just the way my system is. I don't mind until it's one of the kids copying a 10-minute PowerPoint for class and then that disc can never be used again... ug. Thanks for any help/information. A few questions... some burners will not recognise -/+rw format only -/+r If this is true it must be a really chintzy player...i have heard this way back when CD was the only format...i have not heard it since.look at the first dvd PLAYERS. tell me if they were -/+rw compatible. i havent looked into that dvd playerTry one of these: 1. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060 or... 2. http://aumha.org/downloads/cdgone.zip or... 3. Go to Device Manager, click a "+" sign next to IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers. You'll see two items: - ATA Channel0 (or Primary Channel) - ATA Channel1 (or Secondary Channel) Right click on each of them, and click Uninstal. Confirm. Restart Windows. They'll be automatically reinstalled.Quote from: NOT ADMIN :P on May 13, 2008, 05:35:32 PM look at the first dvd players. tell me if they were -/+rw compatible. What "first" DVD players....and aren't we discussing burners here and not players ? ?Ha...i meant DRIVE. lol easy tiger... have i unleashed a beast from a miscommunication, i HOPE not!! Less than 6 months old it should still be under warranty. It would be time to contact Systemax. |
