Solve : Can't get sound to work on 2nd hand computer? |
Answer» I got a computer from a recycle network. I was able to reformat the hard drive and install XP. Everything seems to be working fine except the sound. I plugged in the speakers but get no sound. When i go to hardware device manager, it lists a "multimedia audio controller" under "other devices with a yellow question mark next to it. It says it is enabled but that the DRIVERS are not installed and gives Code 28. I tried the the "reinstall driver" option but it can't find the driver. And I don't have any of the software that came with the computer so I can't reinstall. I also tried the troubleshooting feature but that didn't help. Thank you very much - it is now working!!!!!!!!!!!! After formatting, did you reinstall the latest flash plug-in for your browser?Nice catch Quaxo ! !no, how do I do that?
