Solve : Can't Install Windows 7 Service Pack 1?

Answer»

I am trying to cleanup and fix my neighbors Dell Laptop model 1545...The only remaining problem is that I cant seem to get SP1 to install....I have tried MS Updater TROUBLESHOOTER, and The MS fixer....It tells me it has corrected the problem but when I update, the same problem exists...It downloads, installs...then when it restarts it get to 7% than SAYS it has to revert back to former configurations...

Can you help....?Windows 7 Service Pack 1 won't install Quote from: Computer_Commando on October 18, 2011, 07:01:00 PM

Windows 7 Service Pack 1 won't install

Followed the link you gave me...seems all they want to do is SELL me Reg scanners and bosters....What that about..? ! That link doesn't seem to be very exact....Can you recommend a specific program that I could use to fix this problem...?

No, don't use reg scanners or boosters! They're just ads.

I don't know what you mean. Win7Forums doesn't try to sell me anything. #5 was definitive & worked for the OP.I suspect you're infected...especially if you are seeing popup ads at WIN7 Forums...Quote from: Computer_Commando on October 19, 2011, 08:08:55 AM

SevenForums is laced with ads. I suspect both of you are logged in, maybe? If you're not, you'll see what I mean.I'm a Contributor there...i see no ads.Quote from: patio on October 19, 2011, 09:00:09 AM

kpac has figured it out. If you're logged in, it's different. Very interesting. It's not really a good sign when such a KNOWLEDGEABLE IT-driven community is resorting to making money from registry boosters.
