Solve : Can't play DVD's?

Answer»

I'm trying to play DVD's that I recorder on my recorder but my Windows Media Player keeps telling me that there is a PROBLEM with my screen resolutions or COLOR settings. I've downloaded and installed an MPEG-2 decoder but still no playing allowed. Any help would be appreciated.Try RIGHT clicking on the DESKTOP, go to the settings tab and make sure the color is at 32 BIT and check your resolutions. Also make sure your windows media player settings are setup correctly , a lot of people dont relise you need to actually choose your dvd player , or you can download this

the link is for vlc media player you dont need to worry about codecs and screen settings it will adjust it to your computer as soon as its installed. well worth the download , it plays everything!! and its freeThanks for your rapid replies. I tried the settings before downloading the decoder and I tried it again but it won't play with Windows Media Player. I downloaded this vlc media player but it freezes after 16 seconds. Any ideas what's happening here? What program was used to create these DVD's ? ?I have no idea what program created the DVD. It was recorded on my LiteOn DVD recorder.A DVD can't simply be copied or burned and run properly...for this you need a program such as DVDShrink.
