Answer» I just switched to Windows 7, 64 bit. MS Office 2007.
I can't read pdf files when I open them.
MS Word window opens.
Then a pop-up window called "File Conversion" comes up. It SAYS: SELECT the encoding that MAKES your document readable.
I have 3 choices. Windows, MS-Dos, Other; I select Windows. and get a "Preview" which is 'computer gibberish.
So I have to open Adobe Reader (Latest version) - click open and find my file in order to open it. I want to be able to click on it when I originally want to open it and have it read the pdf.
What am I doing wrong? What can I do?

I also can't read files that end in .sql . I think they are associated with WordPress. This isn't on the wonderful list you sent me to. Any help on this one?
I also can't open files (videos) that are sent in Camtasia. Any ideas on this?
