Solve : Cannot connect threw Mozilla?

Answer»

Alright im running Windows XP and have DSL Internet. Recently moved and got everything hooked up. Im running this computer from a Linksys router but I cant connect to the internet threw Mozilla or World of Warcraft. It lets me browse the internet and such threw IE and even lets me connect to AIM. But otherwise i have no connectivity with any other programs.

I contacted my ISP (AT&T) and they SAID it must be a program on the computer preventing internet access from those programs. I checked my firewalls and havent noticed anything with it. Wondering if anyone might know what my PROBLEM is.

Nevermind found and fixed the problem. *censored* Norton. You might consider completely removing Norton and installing alternative protection (free protection!)

I second that! Personally, I use Avast Free Home Edition and love it.

I used to have Norton and would run into problems like this fairly often. If Symantec would leave Norton to just an anti-virus program users wouldn't have problems like this as often. Programs like Norton Internet Security and Norton 360 include a firewall that is nearly impossible to disable. Combine that, with Windows Firewall and Zone Alarm, and connectivity havoc ensues.I find Norton takes up a lot of Computer Resources.

Don't even mention Norton 360!

JSakon, if you want to remove Norton, tell us before you do anything. There is a specific way to remove Norton.Quote from: Carbon Dudeoxide on August 27, 2008, 09:32:25 AM

Can't argue with that one bit, or byte.

Shocked Don't even mention Norton 360!

I used to have Norton Internet Security 2007 and thought upgrading to Norton 360 would be a good idea. Boy, was I ever wrong. After maybe a few months I replaced it with Avast and have never looked back."Cannot connect through Mozilla"Quote from: Mr. Google on August 28, 2008, 08:01:49 AM
