Answer» so i have done mad research on all the options and none work for me... First i tried the device manager or mouse options. There is no ELAN on my mouse option. and i cant disable anything in device manager... Next i tired the BIOS method and there is no options for my mouse or devices in my advance settings tab... Next i updated all my asus drivers and it says everything is up to date and still nothing... Please help.. My laptop is the G72GX SeriesYour question is unclear...are you wanting to use an external mouse >? ? If so your manual states how to disable the touchpad and do so...yes i only want to use a external mouse usb plugin. but having my touchpad still active it effects my performance. example when i type sometimes just my wrist hovering over the touchpad makes my mouse go crazy and other stuff. i Just want to fully disable my mouse pad on the laptop and no my manual doesnt say how to disable it, it would usually be the fn key + f9 but that clearly doesnt work. ive done some research and that feature always WORKS improperly. i have done other methods stated above but it doesnt pretain to me because my system doesnt show it...
again yes i am trying to disable the mouse pad on my laptop so i can only use the usb mouse without any interference no help? anyone?Does this help?: http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus-reviews-owners-lounges/453437-official-asus-g72gx-owners-lounge-108.htmlnope it doesnt help... Ive DOWNLOADED all the up to date drivers and still the fn+f9 button doesnt disable it. Neither does the disable button near the power button.... When i go into my bios on startup there is no touchpad options avaiable.... so i guess its just impossible to disable? Is the mouse plugged in when you try the disable button ? ? You may have to try it both ways...plugged and unplugged...yes i have tried both ways... there must be a way or a REASON why my touchpad device is working but yet does not show up on my computer drivers.... Ive done days LONG research to no avail... i thought this forum would be able to help being computer dedicated...Did you check the Mouse Properties - Synaptics Settings tab already?
