Solve : Cant play video on certain websites?

Answer»

Hello everyone
Since yesterday I've been having a headache with downstreaming video , I subscribed to Internet TV, my wife is able to watch those TV channels on her computer no problem ...but my Dell Inspiron does not want to play it at all .However if I go on YouToube for example everything plays without any issues . I called Dell , they told me its a software issue. Can anyone help me with this.
Thanks Very Much. It's a good first step to test flash on another website (IE youtube). However, youtube is compatible with a pretty old version of flash, whereas a lot of other sites are not.

I would check to make sure you have flash up to date. Also, make sure the website you're going to is using flash and not SOMETHING ELSE (IE. microsoft's silverlight).I got a suggestion from a co-worker to download Firefox and try it that way , sure enough it guided me to missing plug in , so I installed the plug in and it's been working since ...now I want uninstall Internet Explorer which I dont need anymore , I find Firefox much more fun to use .This Internet Explorer UNINSTALLING process is anything but simple I cant get it out from my Vista , I cant find any Installed Updates for IE, so simple uninstalling it isnt an option , Microsoft tool for removing IE is showing an error , and after 6hrs searching for a solution I got nowhere . Can somebody help ? Please

Is there a reason why you want to remove IE so bad? I know it's a pretty crappy browser, but if you just don't use it you'll be fine. While I disagree that IE is a "crappy browser" I do agree that there is no reason to attempt to uninstall it. If you don't like it, just don't use it.Since it's an integral part of Windows even attempting to get rid of it is a bad idea...Delete the Desktop icon and forget about it.
Besides it's still needed for updates anyhoo...Quote from: patio on September 15, 2009, 08:26:27 AM

Most web developers would agree that IE is not their browser of choice. Perhaps this is why I take this stance.

The "crappy browser" comment was obviously just my bias towards other browsers showing through, but that's where I stand.Don't worry SOCRATES....i think it's a valid statement nonetheless...I will leave it just as you suggested. Thanks .Quote from: patio on September 15, 2009, 05:11:27 PM

Haha. Thanks. I try not to pick on IE too much as it's a very WIDELY used browser, regardless of my thought that it's crappy. You need toinstall:
