Answer» Hi! I finally found my way around the computer, located my music files and am now ready to burn them to a CD. Thing is, it says its fixing to, says "1 of 1 songs complete" but then the disc tray opens and says "There were errors during the recording or errors on your new CD"
Well, I bought this SMALL tower of blank CDs about a year ago, our last computer crashed and so we now have this. I installed the software just last night...but...it has me thinking too.
At the moment, something has a hold of this computer, causing nothing to show up when it starts up except the WALLPAPER, won't recognize cameras or scanners when plugged in and Windows Explorer won't open. {I'm on a Windows XP} by the way....
Another crappy theory I have is that...
Well, do blank CDs become useless after a period of time? Let's say, a year?
I'm pretty sure its the first, but if its the latter, I can spend $20 instead of hundreds.Have you scanned for viruses and Spyware? How much RAM do you have? Which software were you installing to burn CDs? Also, CDs do NOT have an expiration date! They go "bad" only if exposed to direct heat or sunlight, and even sharp objects.
