Neither XP nor Vista should need drivers for a CDRom or a burner.
I've been trying to get him updates for his IDE controllers, not for his burner.
You may be right about other stuff, anyway.The link you gave me didnt have anything for vistaWell, it looks like your system configuration may not support Vista.
You upgraded from XP, right?

That worked like a charm. Thanks a million for all the work. I really appreciate it...I'm really glad
It took a while, but once I started to look at MATSHITA DVD-RAM, Google gave me a LOT of hits about number of problems with this particular device.
