Solve : CD/DVD burner not being reconized(sp)?

I have had my laptop alittle over a year. Its a toshiba satillite.

I was trying to burn music that I ripped off of my CD's through my Zune SOFTWARE (which ive done many times) but all of a SUDDEN Zune (nor WMP 11) wont recongize my burner at all .. but YET NERO 7 will.

But even when I try to burn with NERO ..the burner / my computer FREEZES up.

Have you tried updating the driver?

What's the make/model of the burner?

If you don't know, download PC Wizard 2008 > install > run > then click on the drive icon on the left.All OSes from Win 2K, and up have buiilt in drivers for optical drives.Broni's correct.
