well, for starters i am really computer illiterate and i really need help.
Well my problem is that i have a cd/dvd DRIVE combo and for some strange REASON all of a sudden it stopped reading any sort of disc. When i put in the cd or dvd it lights up and than nothing happes. it is strange because there is no sound either. someone pls help me....if u require any info pls LET me know i will provide it.

oh, i have tried to delete hte upper and lower registry files..i found that on another forum topic

Did you get a disk with your cd/dvd drive???

also open your case and check if both cables are fully inserted into the back of your drive.

please turn of your power and pull out power cord when doing this.

Also remember to touch your case b4 you touch and components insidewell i don't want to mess with the insides, and when i did go into the registries the first time the problem was fixed but it came back again. is there any other solution, or is it suggested that i just go to a computer tech or shop to get it fixed? i WOULD prefer to not have to spend any money. ; I have same problem. Try to update driver won't help @all.
I use MEMOREX Double LAYER 16Xdoes any one else have any suggestions, i really really need help TRAVEL to Device Manager. Find the drive and right clik it and select Remove.
Re-boot.
