Alright. Hopefully SOMEONE can help. When I put a audio Cd in my computer, it asks what I want to do with it. Play,rip, burn. etc... well when I CLICK on play. It says the extension doesn't work. It is very annoying. I talked with dell, my computer manufacturer , and they sent me a new CD-drive to replace the old one and I'm still having the same problem so it isn't the drive. Any ideas? I am assuming it has not always been this way so when did it work last and what has changed?I'm pretty sure it started happening when I completely wiped windows and reinstalled a fresh copy because I had a virus/spyware problem.. After I reinstalled windows XP, my machine wouldn't find any audio devices, but I just installed the DRIVERS. It may have also happened when I installed Itunes. I tried uninstalling Itunes, but it still doesn't work. The only hardware that has changed is the replacement of the exact same CD drive model that I put in today and still didn't work. I don't really think Itunes was the cause though. If you need more information just ask. What SOUND drivers did you install ? ?
Did you re-install the MBoard drivers after re-installing XP ? ?
This should be one of the first steps...if this does not resolve your issue then dload and run Everest Home and post a report of what's in that machine.
