Solve : CD ROM Drive is not working?

Answer»

how do you reboot to a BOOTABLE disc? You need to start paying attention.

If you have an original OS disc (Vista, XP, etc) insert it in the cd drive. If not, you can create one (as BC suggested above, download memtest and burn it to cd). After you insert a bootable cd, reboot the computer. Tell us if the SYSTEM sees the drive at boot.my cd drive isnt working so not meaning to sound daft here but how do i burn it to a disc?you know what im gonna GIVE it back to the guy who reformatted my computer so thankyou very much everybody im very gratefull for the help and advice you have gave me i think if i need help with ANYTHING like this though im not going to get it into my head even with u guys walking me through its just too complicated so thankyou all and ill definately be on for less complicated problems thanks very much Quote from: nick birkinshaw1 on July 08, 2010, 06:33:21 AM

On a different system.

Go round your mates (one who has a PC)If none of my steps WORKED, most likely, you need a new drive. Quote from: Broni on July 08, 2010, 02:47:09 PM

Exactly. If the system does not see the drive at boot with a bootable drive inserted, the drive is dead.
