Solve : cd-rom probs? |
Answer» Yes I'm an embarrassed newbie, TRYING to BACKUP music files saved on hard drive to cd. I have (I think) a standard cd-rom drive, 52X, using windows 98. When I try to copy, told there's no disk in d: drive, even though there is. I bought CD-R disks52X compatible. No format option in file menu of my computer that I can see. Simply the wrong type of disks or...? Any help OFFERED is greatly appreciated. The WHOLE comp. was just reimaged a few weeks ago... Quote have (I think) a standard cd-rom drive That's the problem. A standard CD-ROM drive can not copy CDs, only read CDs. You will need a CD-Reader/Writer (CD-RW). In case you have erred and do have a CD-RW, you will have to install copying software such as Nero first. Windows 98 does not offer drag and drop copying. Quote You will need a CD-Reader/Writer (CD-RW). These are available ALMOST anywhere...even Wal-Mart, and are relatively cheap |
