Solve : CentOs 5?

Answer»

hi all...i need to CHECK the IP of the SERVER we have that has cent os installed on it. i have NEVER worked on it before and would like to know where the command prompt is. All help is appreciated. If it's in GUI mode, pressing Ctrl-Alt-F1 should get you to a console.  (Ctrl-Alt-F7 gets you back into X Windows.)  Or look for "Terminal" or "Xterm" in the menus.

Once there, type "ifconfig".  That will give you IP address assignments (if any).Or it could be Ctrl-Shift-F1 - I forget...
