Solve : Change "day" format in Excel?

Answer»

Using Microsoft Office 2007.  Is there a way for a non techie USER of Excel to  change the "DAY" format in Excel?  Only option available is the full spelling of the "day" or the first letter of the "day" in format cell.  Would like to have the day displayed in three (3) letter format "ddd" (Mon, Tue, ...... Sat, Sun)  Thank you. I hope this helps you.

Right click on the cell with the date and select "format Cells" Under the number's tab click on custom. In the box under "Type" enter "ddd" and this should solve the problem for you.

If not please let me know and I will try and help you further. Quote from: zhetto2004 on SEPTEMBER 12, 2010, 08:47:13 AM

And, of course, coding for month and year MUST be joined with the "ddd" if you want month and year displayed.Thank you so very much.  It WORKS.
