Yeah I think I will just re-install and then do auto-update.

Thanks for the help guys much appreciated. Can you borrow an SP2 Vista DVD ? ?
Again that would save alot of time if you are on a slow connection...

PS: Do you have an imaging app installed for backups ? ?
Now would be a good time to consider that if not...Quote from: patio on February 26, 2010, 09:28:18 AM

I could probably hunt one down.. I think my neighbour may have one she has just BOUGHT a new laptop.. could be 7 though..

I have 'macrium reflect' for backups.. but never used it.. is that reliable?Yes...see my Review in the Reviews and Recommendations section...
I tested 5 free IMAGE apps...in my mind it came out on top.
This is strictly opinion but i test an awful lot of software in different enviornments.Quote from: patio on February 26, 2010, 09:53:26 AM

Thanks for that. I trust your word on it

will start the backup now..Better to do it after the clean install and all your important apps are setup and you have everything tweaked...
If you image now you will inherit any current issues you have if you use that image...heh very good point... will have a chat with my neighbour and see what they have.
