Answer» I have a Compaq Presario 5000 and it has a MV540 monitor but my original ME disks are lost to the void. I put Win2k on it but the monitor doent have all the supported resolutions listed on the site. Also it keeps recorrecting its witepoint betewwn a blueish greenish collor and white. Also it came equiped with some kind of modem but Win2k cant detect it any suggestions on where I might find the drivers? (I already checked the Compaq and HP websites and only found sound drivers outdated ones at that.) I dont really care if thier outdated as long as they work. You need to load the correct sound and video drivers:

I don't know about the video adapter. Win2000 should have those natively. If the modem was a Winmodem, it may be lost to you unless 2K has built in capabilities to install Winmodem. The problem is that a Winmodem is a SOFTWARE modem and not a PHYSICAL card. Of course, you could always use an external modem or a PC card modem.-scratches head- Ok, uhm well. Ok the video card is installed properly(I upgraded it so its no longer factory ISSUE) and it works but my monisotr keeps correcting the white point. Upon recent studies if I hit the side of the monitor then the white point fixes and returnes to normal. But the modem is a PC that came installed in one of the PCI slots(The video is and AGP).Most modems sold TODAY are WInModems and they are PCI card based. (If it cost less than $50 it is most likely a WinModem.)
You can download Everest Home and identify the modem and chipset. Then we can look for the driver.
