Answer» Compaq Presario sr1300nx with windows xp. Packed away for six months. Tried to start up again, and got nothing but \ system 321\ hal.dll. error code 4. Trying to reinstall windows xp, but all I get is" INSERT recovery floppy disc" & " corrupt file". I don't have a recovery disc, does this model even TAKE a floppy disc? Computer worked fine before I packed it away. All I did was pull some photos and data files off on a zip drive. Also tried safe mode and got the same results. Please help!
