Answer» I have a Dell DIM4500 Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition with 1023 of RAM. I just installed a video game (World of Warcraft). WHen I start playing, the game freezes up and then shuts down. The error message that I get is : EventType: 0xEA - Thread Stuck in Device Driver
// // The driver for the display device got stuck in an infinite loop. This // usually indicates a problem with the device itself or with the device // driver programming the hardware incorrectly. Any ideas? Is this something I need to run the re-install disks that came with the computer to fix the problem? Does this mean that the game card isn't working? Thanks for any HELP. According to the info posted at the site you are well within the games requirements:
Quote Windows® System 98/ME/2000/XP OS:
* 800 MHz or higher CPU. * 256 MB or more of RAM. * 32 MB 3D graphics card with hardware TRANSFORM and Lighting, such as GeForce 2 or better. * 4 GB or more of available HARD drive space. * DirectX® 9.0c or above. * A 56K or higher modem with an Internet connection. I would travel to Dell's site put in your service tag # and grab the video drivers and re-install them.
The vid card is the problem though according to the error message. Thanks, I'll give that a shot.
