When running a program such as Norton Anti Virus and defragmentation, my system locks-up and dose not allow me to PREFORM the required function to completion. ie. when defraging it gets to a certain percentage locks-up, when running NAV it get to certain files and locks-up. I am running on Win XP PRO.
Can someone please let me know what my be my problem?
Thank youWhich operating system are you using? How much RAM do you have? How log has this been happening for?

Re Norton ..... Try booting into safe mode and run it from there ......
It should run in NORMAL ...but give it a try in safe and let us know .....
Do you have this issue with any other app ? do you get any error messages ?

No, other issues and error messages.Have you been able to scan for any virues and spyware? Do you have a lot of tasks running?
[glb]Flame[/glb]Run the applications whilst WORKING in safe mode.I have not be able to complete the anti-virus scan due to the locking up of my system. In addition, running the NAV in safe mode does not work.
