Solve : Computer starts then looses video signal?

Answer»

I just did a fresh install of XP pro. After I install a driver and restart the computer it shows the xp spash screen then the monitor goes blank. It CONTINUES to load windows I can hear it but I'm getting no signal to the monitor. Before Windows LOADS, press F8 and choose "VGA Mode". Uninstall the drivers and get the latest drivers from the videocard MANUFACTURER its website. Thanks in vga mode I was ABLE to update the driver, but when I reboot the same thing happens...no video signal. I thought it might be trying to use mobo video but there is not a connection for video on the mobo and nothing I can find in bios.Have you had the case open ? ?
Or has it been moved lately ? ?

If so remove a side panel and carefully re-seat the vid card.

As always when working inside the case remove all power sources and take the neccessary ESD precautions...

patio.  8-)Thanks ya'll I FIGURED it out. It was drivers from the mobo driver disk.Congrats we love success stories...people doing a re-install of XP get so excited to get back up and running they usually forget a driver or three...
