Solve : Confuse...?

Answer»

In excel, what is the difference between =number and number (example. =1 and 1) in the formula bar? They seem to be the same.......... :-?I'm pretty SURE = is used if you are doing an arithmatic equation. Addition and what have you.

FlameFlame is right. You can simply enter numbers in cells and that requires no = sign. But, if you want to enter an equation or formula, then, where a number is the first member of the equation or formula, it must be preceded by the = sign. Oh good I was right lol That computer apps class came in handy lol

Hmmm ..., what's the problem here? You said you were "pretty sure". I was ABSOLUTELY sure and just THOUGHT I'd confirm how Excel works in REGARD to the question.
