Solve : Connect to mail system?

Win XP Pro, Mozilla Thunderbird and/or Outlook Express. AVG Free.

Reinstalled Thunderbird, AVG, ZoneAlarm etc after problem with Admin password.

Neither mail prog will connect to the Xtra mail system. O.E. gives the error 'The server responded with an error. Account "Xtra.co.nz" Server "Xtra.co.nz" Protocol Pop3. Server response "Err AVG Pop3 PROXY Server" port 110 secure (SSL) No Server error 0x800cc90 Error number 0x800ccc90'

Googled but NONE of the possibles SEEM to match.

Any workaround plse :-?Contact your email provider or LOOK in their knowledge base for POP instructions. They always DIFFER by host.

Turn off SSL for mail.2k - how is that done please :-?Eureka. Not SSL but my error in entering Pop & SMTP.
