Answer» A friend of mine has a computer which is CRASHED. I try to restore with NORTON recovery disk and I got the message of "partition unrecognized". I could only read the content of the Drive on DOS command. I have tried to copy all data from DOS command to a CD. However when I load a driver to recognize the CD Rom, I got a message " C drive unreadable, cannot install driver for CD". PLEASE show me how to copy all data before I partition the drive. Thanks for your time and considerations The first thing to do is to download and run the free diagnostics from the APPROPRIATE drive maker's site. That drive may have already headed south.And secondly instead of trying to recover all the data thru DOS which is the hard way you might want to consider installing that HDD as a slave drive to a known working machine with a burner and retrieve whatever data he needs...Thanks for helping, I will try with another computer to copy data
