Solve : Copy protection of CD using software?

This is regarding copy protection of CDs USING software methods (NOT by making physical marks/holes on CD):

I use WINDOWS XP with Nero-6. I want to create copy-protected CDs.  

(1) Is there any other software, or other version of Nero itself, which has this feature?

(2) If not, is there any (third party) add-on module which makes this feature available in Nero or Windows-XP?

(3) Copy-prevented CDs have dummy file-names with very large size in their directory. I UNDERSTAND that this is what prevents the copying. But, I wonder why the copying software tries to interpret the directory information instead of reading the CD track-by-track, like copying a FLOPPY disk.
