Solve : copying a homemade dvd to another dvd?

Hi i am trying to copy a dvd to another dvd. but i am having TROUBLE doing that. I have two drives a cd/dvd drive and a cd/dvd burner drive. But in my "my computer" the cd/dvd burner shows up as a cd drive making it so that when i try to copy the homemade dvd to the blank dvd it keeps saying please insert a blank cd. Please help me fix my problem thank you.It's actually against our forum rules to put up how to rip or copy DVD's so I can't really help you there.
